Printed apparel care

How to Care for Your Printed Hoodies and Tees

Printed apparel lasts longer when you treat it gently. These habits take almost no extra time, and they help the fabric and the print stay in good shape.

Always check the care details on the product page and on the garment label first. Materials and print methods differ, and the instructions for your item come first. What follows are general guidelines.

Before washing

  • Turn the item inside out so the print rubs less against other fabrics.
  • Close zippers and fasten any hooks, so they do not catch the print.
  • Wash with similar colors, and avoid washing with rough items such as denim or towels.

Washing

  • Use cold or cool water and a gentle cycle.
  • Choose a mild detergent. Skip bleach and fabric softener.
  • Do not overload the machine. Clothes need room to move.

Drying

Air drying is the gentlest option. Hang the item or lay it flat away from direct, strong sunlight. If you use a dryer, choose a low heat setting, and take the item out while it is still slightly damp to reduce shrinking and wrinkles.

Ironing

If you need to iron, turn the item inside out and use low heat. Never iron directly on the print.

Storage

Fold hoodies and tees instead of hanging them for long periods, since hanging can stretch the shoulders. Store them dry, away from heat.

Mugs, totes and other items

For mugs, check the product page to see whether they are dishwasher or microwave safe. Hand washing helps a printed surface last longer. For tote bags, spot clean when you can, and follow the care label for machine washing.
